Aliya Toktobekova, originally from Issyk-Kul, has fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a teacher.

Aliya was born on July 24, 2000, in the village of Ak-Kochkor, located in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region. She currently resides in the village of Tyup in the Tyup district and teaches Russian language and literature at the Abdykasyma Karymshakova Secondary School. In 2018, she enrolled in the philological faculty of the Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanova, which she successfully graduated from in 2022. Now she applies her knowledge in practice, striving to provide her students with a quality education.

“My interest in the teaching profession began to form during my school years. In the 5th grade, while studying at the D. Imanov school, I was greatly influenced by my class teacher Nursat Bazarbekovna Alseitova. She was an outstanding educator, able to explain the learning material in a playful manner and engage us. In the 10th and 11th grades, I particularly loved the lessons of Russian language and literature taught by my teacher Ainura Urmanbetova,” recalls Aliya.

One of the most memorable moments for her was the presentation of flowers to teachers during the ceremony marking the end of the 11th grade. At that moment, she gave flowers to Ainura, after which she received her blessing (“bata”). “Although I couldn't hear what she said because of the music, I have always considered this blessing to be fateful, which led me to the teaching profession,” shares Toktobekova.

Her parents also played an important role in her career choice, advising her to become a Russian language teacher, assuring her that this was her calling.

Aliya began her career in 2024 and continues to teach Russian language and literature to this day.

“Currently, my teaching experience is 1 year and 7 months. I use the modern '5E' methodology, trying to increase student interest through interactive methods. In my classes, I utilize interactive whiteboards and televisions, as well as incorporate game elements,” she explains about her work.

Every day at school is unique and interesting for her. For example, once during an open lesson, the students managed to grasp the material in 34 minutes, which made her feel awkward in front of her colleagues. “I prepared a new lesson and repeated the open lesson a week later. This experience was important for me,” shares Aliya.

She is currently preparing for the “Teacher of the Year” competition, which is one of her main goals.

“In the 2024-2025 academic year, I represented my school in a competition on the topic 'Kara Kyrgyz Republic', where we took 2nd place. I also completed a course on inclusive education and received the corresponding certificate,” she adds.

In her free time, Aliya tries to be productive by making videos with her students and actively participating in social media. Sports also play an important role in her life — she plays volleyball, loves chess, and toguz korgool. Time spent with family is also very valuable to her.

Since 2020, she has been married and is raising two daughters and a son with her husband.

“My main dream is to raise educated and patriotic individuals who will be the pride of their country. I want my students to be worthy representatives of the youth that the people will be proud of and that the world will admire. Additionally, I strive to earn the title of 'Best Teacher of the Year',” concluded Aliya.
