According to information from the Financial Times, the last payment of $2.5 million was made in 2025, concluding an agreement reached in 2020, under which each plaintiff was entitled to $3.3 million.

The plaintiffs, members of the Cascio family, have long been considered close friends of Jackson. The Cascios claim that they signed the agreement under pressure and without fully understanding its terms, which is why they are seeking additional compensation.

In October, the Cascio family accused the singer of sexualized abuse that they say occurred over many years, starting from their childhood. Representatives of Jackson's estate deny these allegations, stating that they are false and aimed at extortion.

According to the publication, over the past year, both sides have attempted to resolve the conflict amicably, but now the Cascio family is demanding an open court trial. A hearing is scheduled for November 6 in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

The Financial Times emphasizes that the resumption of the legal process could negatively impact the reputation of Jackson's legacy and complicate the release of the biographical film "Michael," which is set to premiere in 2026.

It is also worth noting that the Cascio family filed a lawsuit against Jackson's heirs following the release of the 2019 HBO documentary "Leaving Neverland," in which Wade Robson and James Safechuck spoke about the alleged abuse by the artist.
