NASA will hold a live broadcast today about comet 3I/ATLAS

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has announced an open press conference today, during which new images of the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS will be presented. This was reported by TASS.

The live broadcast will begin at 3:00 PM Eastern Time (11:00 PM Moscow Time) and will focus on images obtained during various NASA missions related to this comet.

It is worth noting that 3I/ATLAS is the third comet of interstellar origin discovered by astronomers. The first was the comet Oumuamua, discovered in the fall of 2017, and the second was the comet 2I/Borisov, identified by Russian astronomer Gennady Borisov in August 2019.

The comet 3I/ATLAS reached perihelion, the point in its orbit closest to the Sun, on October 29. Astronomers believe that this object is not part of our Solar System and has arrived from other star systems, which confirms its status as the third interstellar object discovered in the history of observations.
