Today at 6:11 AM West Indonesian Time (2:11 AM Moscow Time), the Semeru volcano located in eastern Java erupted, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the observation post, the eruption produced an ash column approximately 800 meters high, rising from the summit of the volcano, which stands at 4476 meters above sea level.
At this time, the volcano has been assigned a second level of danger.
Experts strongly recommend that local residents avoid staying within three kilometers of the crater due to the possibility of ejected hot rocks.
