In the Jalal-Abad region, work will begin on the modernization of 21 potentially dangerous sites.

This information was provided by the regional emergency management agency.

According to the received data, today experts have gone to the locations that may pose a danger for inspection.

“Specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and representatives of the World Bank visited sites in the Kökjö-Köz and Bazar-Korgon districts, as well as areas in the Suzak district, where there is a high risk of mudflows. They assessed the situation and discussed the technical aspects related to the preparation of the feasibility study and project documentation,” the statement said.

As part of this project, 21 sites at risk of mudflows and flooding will be reconstructed. It is expected that this will provide protection for more than 4,000 families and about 5,500 hectares of agricultural land from threats related to mudflows and flooding,” the agency added.
