
At the age of 83, Vera Alentova has passed away, as reported by the Pushkin Theater. The theater expressed its condolences: "This is a great sorrow for us... Vera Valentinovna Alentova served in our theater for over 60 years."
According to information provided by TASS and several Telegram channels, such as "Baza" and "Caution, News," the actress felt unwell during a farewell to actor Anatoly Lobotsky at the Mayakovsky Theater. At the moment her health deteriorated, she was handed over to emergency medical personnel, after which she was carried out on a stretcher.
Vera Alentova is known for numerous Soviet and Russian films, among which "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears" stands out, where she played Katerina Tikhomirova. This film, directed by Vladimir Menshov in 1981, won an Oscar. Her filmography also includes such films as "Stars and Soldiers" (1967), "The Time of Desires" (1984), "Tomorrow Was War" (1987), "The Groom from Miami" (1994), "Shirli-Myrli" (1995), "Balzac Age, or All Men Are... " (2007), and others. In 2000, she starred alongside Anatoly Lobotsky in the film "Envy of the Gods," which became Vladimir Menshov's last work.
Alentova was the wife of director Vladimir Menshov, who passed away in 2021. She is survived by her daughter — Yulia Menshova, who is also known as an actress and television presenter.
