Russian TV presenter Yuri Nikolaev has passed away

Yuri Nikolaev, a renowned Russian television presenter and actor, passed away at the age of 77, as reported by Russian news agencies, including RIA Novosti.

According to available information, at the time of his health deterioration, Nikolaev was at home. He had long suffered from a serious lung disease, and on the same day, news of his hospitalization became known.

Confirmation of the television presenter’s death came from the People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Tsiskaridze.

“Yuri Nikolaev has gone to heaven. Just recently we celebrated his anniversary — a man who ignited many stars… And just now the news of his passing has come,” Tsiskaridze wrote on his Telegram channel.

Yuri Alexandrovich Nikolaev was born on December 16, 1948, in Chișinău. His parents were participants in the Great Patriotic War. After graduating from School No. 4 (now the Titul Maiorescu Lyceum) in 1965, he entered GITIS, where he studied theater and film arts.

From 1970 to 1975, Nikolaev worked at the Pushkin Theater, and in 1973 he began his television career. He gained wide fame through programs such as "Morning Mail," "Morning Star," "The Heritage of the Republic," "In Our Time," and "Honest Word."

In 1998, Yuri Nikolaev was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia.
