Andrésen, born in 1955, first appeared on screen at the age of 15, starring in Roy Andersson's film "A Swedish Love Story." He gained fame after the release of "Death in Venice" in 1971, directed by Italian filmmaker Luchino Visconti, based on the story by Thomas Mann.
After the release of this film, many began to call him "the most beautiful boy of the 20th century," although the actor himself did not approve of the film's storyline.

In the following years, Björn Andrésen occasionally acted in films and also worked for several years in Japan. He also became a musician and performed with the dance group Sven Erics.
The actor was married to poetess Suzanne Roman. They had a daughter, Robin, and a son, Elvin, who unfortunately passed away at the age of nine months.
