At a recent pre-New Year ceremony, where titles are traditionally awarded, Sir Idris Elba was recognized for his active charitable work. This information was reported by the "Russian service of the BBC".
The actor, whose charitable initiative Elba Hope Foundation aims to support children, expressed hope that his title would help draw attention to the importance of aiding youth and finding alternatives to violence.
Known for his roles as Nelson Mandela in the film "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and detective John Luther in the series "Luther," Elba received a grant from the Prince of Wales's Foundation in his youth to study at the National Youth Music Theatre, which played a significant role in his career.
This time, the king awarded titles to 1,157 outstanding figures in the fields of art, science, politics, and sports.
