The incident has been registered in the record book of the Sverdlovsk District Internal Affairs Department. A investigative-operational group was dispatched to the scene. According to preliminary data, three men drowned in the water body: Zh. Ch., born in 1988, Zh. T., born in 1966, and Zh. Zh., born in 1963. The body of a 37-year-old man has been found, and the search for the other two continues.
In order to determine the causes of the tragedy, forensic examinations have been appointed. More than 60 police officers are participating in the search and rescue operations. Search activities were suspended but will resume on December 31 at 08:30. The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, representatives of the Bishkek city administration confirmed that the deceased worked at the municipal enterprise "Tazalyk". According to the municipality, after finishing their work at the site on Auezov Street, they were heading home around 08:00–08:30 and, unfortunately, drowned in a technical canal.
The mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, arrived at the scene and instructed to take control of the situation and conduct a thorough investigation. After the search is completed, assistance will be provided to the families of the deceased from the mayor's reserve fund and the resources of the enterprise's trade union committee.
Currently, the circumstances of the incident are still being clarified, and the situation is under the personal control of the mayor of the capital.
