
In the latest report from the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NIIC), 22 new cases of measles were recorded, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 13,989.
According to the center's information, currently 56 patients are hospitalized, among whom five children are in critical condition.
On December 30, NIIC also reported that the total number of deaths from measles in Mongolia has risen to 12 after another death was registered.
In light of the current situation, NIIC urged parents to ensure their children are vaccinated with two doses against measles to prevent possible serious consequences of the disease.
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that spreads through respiratory droplets and direct contact.
Common complications include fever, dry cough, runny nose, sore throat, and conjunctivitis. Effective prevention of the disease is possible through immunization.
