South Korean intelligence reported on North Korean leader's plans to appoint his daughter as successor

South Korean intelligence notes that Kim Ju-ae has participated in various events, such as the Army Day celebrations and a visit to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun. These events, according to experts, confirm her active involvement in political life and emphasize that she may be being prepared for the role of successor, sources in the NIS report.

Previously, intelligence had already considered Kim Ju-ae to be the most suitable candidate for succession; however, experts now believe that the official procedure for her appointment to this position has begun. Specialists from South Korea will monitor her participation in official events for further analysis of the situation.

Kim Ju-ae is estimated to be around 13 years old. In September, the NIS noted that she might have accompanied her father Kim Jong-un during his visit to Beijing for the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan. In 2024, the intelligence agency reported to the South Korean parliament that Kim Ju-ae is undergoing training in state management.
