At the Munich Security Conference, Reza Pahlavi, the son of the last Shah of Iran, urgently called on Donald Trump for swift intervention in what is happening in Iran. He noted that the country continues to experience harsh repression against protesters, and the number of casualties is steadily rising.

“Every day, more Iranians are dying,” he emphasized.

Pahlavi expressed the opinion that the main goal should be the swift overthrow of the current government, which he believes is stalling through negotiations.

He also addressed Trump, pointing out that the protesters in Iran “have heard him and believe in him.” According to him, the U.S. president could become one of the “greatest heroes of the world” if he takes decisive action.

“It is time to put an end to the Islamic Republic. This demand comes from my compatriots,” he added.

Furthermore, Pahlavi noted that the protesters are in dire need of external support to continue their resistance.

The 62nd Munich Security Conference is taking place from February 13 to 15 in Germany, with more than 60 heads of state and government, as well as defense ministers from about 100 countries participating.

Earlier, two sources from the U.S. administration informed Reuters that American military forces are preparing for a possible operation against Iran, which could take several weeks. The preparations have intensified following Trump’s statements about the need for a change of power in the country.

In addition, the White House announced the deployment of a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East, along with fighter jets, destroyers, and thousands of military personnel. Trump warned that if negotiations over the nuclear deal fail, Iran can expect a “bad day.”
