- Italy, France, and seven other Mediterranean countries have appealed to the European Commission to urgently address the issue of the Russian gas tanker Arctic Metagaz, which, according to Russia, was damaged by a Ukrainian sea drone in early March and is currently drifting between Malta and Sicily. Reuters reports that the tanker, which is out of control and has caught fire, poses a danger both to other vessels and to the environment.
- The company "Ukrenergo" reported receiving a letter from the Slovak SEPS regarding its intention to terminate the mutual emergency assistance agreement. "Ukrenergo" claims that this will not affect Ukrainian consumers. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico previously announced plans to terminate the agreement at the end of February.
- A drone attack occurred in the city of Korochа in the Belgorod region of Russia, resulting in five injuries, including four children.
- In the village of Zaitsevo in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, shelling took place, resulting in two deaths and several injuries, among which were three children.
- In the Sumy region, two fatalities have been reported, including the driver of a heavy truck who fell victim to drones.
- In the morning, a residential area in Zaporizhzhia was hit, causing destruction, and one woman was killed.
- Three people were injured in an attack on a civilian enterprise in the Nemishlyansky district of Kharkiv.
- The Ukrainian Air Forces reported an "atypical morning drone attack" from the direction of the Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv regions. In Kyiv, drone debris fell in the center and two other districts, as reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko, who published photos from the scene.
- During the night, Russian military shot down more than 40 Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin and the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Over the weekend, more than 100 drones were shot down, and several times Moscow airports suspended flights; however, there have been no reports of serious consequences.
- Kenya's Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi stated that Kenyans will no longer participate in the special military operation following a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on March 16.
- Famous actor and director Sean Penn missed the American Academy Awards ceremony, where he was awarded his third Oscar, as he is currently in Ukraine.
