In the Fatih district, located in the center of Istanbul, a gas explosion occurred, resulting in the collapse of two residential buildings. This is reported by Turkish media, citing information from the Associated Press.

The Governor of Istanbul, Davut Gül, stated that nine people were trapped under the rubble. Seven of them have already been taken to medical facilities, and one person has been rescued. The search for the last person continues; however, the condition of those rescued is not critical, as TRT clarifies.

Local sources note that the buildings were very close to each other, and the explosion in one of them led to the collapse of the neighboring building, creating a domino effect. Rescue operations are ongoing, but access to the scene is complicated due to the narrow streets and dense construction in the area.
