According to The Wall Street Journal, the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush left the port of Norfolk in Virginia on March 31 and is moving with an aircraft carrier strike group. It is estimated that its journey to the destination will take several weeks.

According to sources, the USS George H.W. Bush is expected to join the aircraft carriers USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Gerald R. Ford. The former is currently in the Arabian Sea, while the latter is undergoing repairs in Croatia.

The WSJ emphasizes that the deployment of a third aircraft carrier is taking place against the backdrop of increasing American military presence in the region and discussions led by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding further steps against Iran.

Earlier, Reuters reported that the Pentagon is analyzing the possibility of conducting a ground operation against Iran, which could take several weeks or even longer, but no final decision has been made yet.

Additionally, the Associated Press informs that, in addition to increasing naval forces, the U.S. is also deploying additional troops to the region, including units from the 82nd Airborne Division and Marines.
