According to the newspaper Smålandsposten, a bronze sculpture titled "Emigrants," weighing 125 kilograms, has been stolen in Sweden.

The loss of the artwork, created by the famous Swedish sculptor Carl Milles, was discovered by the director of the Småland Cultural Park, Lennart Johansson, on the morning of November 10. The sculpture was located at the Emigrants' House in the city of Växjö.

Johansson expressed the opinion that the perpetrators are unlikely to attempt to sell the sculpture, but rather will melt it down for the metal.

The sculpture was created in 1940 and depicts seven people sitting on the back of a giant fish. This piece symbolizes the mass migration of Swedes to America, which took place from the mid-19th century to the early 1920s.
