The Main Directorate for Criminal Investigation (GUBOP) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports an increasing number of scammers who send messages on behalf of the president in messengers and social networks, offering to click on a suspicious link.

In an official statement, it is clarified that "government agencies and the president of the Kyrgyz Republic do not provide monetary 'grants' or 'gifts' through internet resources, messengers, or social networks."

GUBOP also warns that such messages are aimed at deceitfully obtaining your personal data, as well as gaining access to accounts and bank cards.

Please pay attention to the following recommendations:

    •    avoid clicking on such links;

    •    do not enter your TIN, passport details, card numbers, or SMS codes;

    •    phrases like "I already received," "urgent," "only today" are clear signs of fraud;

    •    rely only on information from official sources.

If you have already fallen for the trick, clicked on the link, or provided personal data, immediately contact law enforcement by calling 102, as stated in the notification from the Directorate.
