Attack on Iran. Tehran responded to the US ultimatum regarding the lifting of the blockade of the Strait
In response to the ultimatum from US President Donald Trump, Iran threatened to completely close the Strait of Hormuz. The American leader had previously set a 48-hour deadline for the unblocking of this important maritime corridor; otherwise, he promised new missile strikes on Iranian power plants.

“If the US begins to attack Iran's power plants, we will immediately close the Strait of Hormuz and will not reopen it until the damaged power plants are restored. We will also strike all energy facilities and information systems of the Zionist regime,” said a representative of the Iranian central army headquarters.

Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz after the conflict between the US and Israel began, through which about 20% of the world's maritime oil exports previously passed. As a result, oil prices began to rise steadily.

Additionally, the Strait of Hormuz was also an important route for maritime trade in fertilizers, accounting for about one-third of their global supply. Supply issues could lead to rising food prices and shortages in several regions, UN experts warn.

Since the beginning of the conflict, prices for various types of fertilizers have already increased by 10-30%.

Saudi Arabia declared five employees of the Iranian embassy in Riyadh, including a military attaché, persona non grata. They have been ordered to leave the country within 24 hours, according to information from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The commander of the Iranian police, Ahmad-Reza Radan, stated that Iran is ready to assist the European Union in protecting Greenland from threats from the US.

“If you cannot protect your Greenland, contact us — we are ready to help,” he added.

According to The New York Times, at least 39 oil refineries and fields in nine Middle Eastern countries have been severely damaged.

Since the beginning of the conflict between the US and Israel, there has been a rise in prices in Iran:

Iranian drones attacked Emirates A380 and Saudia A321 aircraft located at Dubai International Airport, according to media reports. Previously, Israel had struck Iranian airports.

At least five planes parked at the airports were damaged as a result of the Iranian attacks, including two — Emirates A380 and the more compact A321.

Iran used missiles capable of bypassing Patriot air defense systems, the Financial Times reports. In particular, high-precision missiles capable of countering American technologies were used in attacks on the QatarEnergy complex in Ras Laffan.

According to US Central Command, Iran has not shot down any American fighter jets. “There is an opinion that the Iranian regime recently shot down an American F-15; however, American forces have conducted over 8,000 combat sorties, and Iran has not shot down a single American fighter jet,” the statement said.
