Trump characterized this event as “justice for the people of Iran and for all Americans,” as well as for people from various countries who have become victims of Khamenei's regime and his supporters. “This is a unique opportunity for the Iranians to reclaim their country,” he added.
He expressed hope that “the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and local police will unite with Iranian patriots to work together on restoring the lost greatness of the country.”
The president also noted that “large-scale and targeted attacks will continue throughout the week or as long as necessary to achieve our goal — establishing peace in the Middle East and, ultimately, throughout the world.”
The attack on Iran began on February 28 and included numerous air and missile strikes on cities and military facilities in the country. Tehran, in turn, responded with strikes on Israeli and American military bases in various countries in the region. In the first hours of the operation, several high-profile Iranian officials and military personnel were killed. Shortly after the attacks began, Trump announced the start of Operation “Lion's Roar” in his statement.
