In discussions about the role of European countries in the Middle Eastern conflict, Trump emphasized that some states have performed "magnificently," while others, such as Spain and the United Kingdom, have proven to be "terrible" partners. He expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of the United Kingdom, which also refused to assist with operations against Iran.
The next day, March 4, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez addressed the nation, reaffirming that Spain would not support the conflict involving the United States and Israel. "We will not be complicit in actions that contradict our values and interests, merely to avoid repression," he stated.

On February 28, Israel and the U.S. conducted strikes against Iran, after which Trump announced his intention to destroy Iran's nuclear program.In response, Iran launched strikes against American bases and other targets in the region, including in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
As a result of the American-Israeli attacks, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed, and shortly after, his wife Mansoureh Khodjasteh succumbed to her injuries.
Trump also stated that military actions in Iran would last about four weeks. In response, Iran declared jihad against the U.S. and Israel, stating that there would be no negotiations.
