What happened?
Names have been changed at the request of relatives to protect the minor child.According to a woman who contacted the Kaktus.media editorial office, the incident occurred on the night of February 14 in the city of Kochkor-Ata. The conflict erupted between her niece Zuhra and her partner Tahir over their daughter. When Tahir hit the girl, Zuhra called her brother Ismail to take them away.
However, Tahir did not calm down and followed them. At Ismail's house, he stabbed his nephew several times, bit off part of his ear, and threatened his parents, shouting that he would kill them.
According to the woman, Zuhra's daughter is now 14 years old. Their relationship with Tahir has lasted for about ten years, and for the last five or six years, he has regularly used violence against both Zuhra and their daughter.The woman stated that Zuhra had tried to leave Tahir several times but returned to him each time. Even after the knife incident, she left her parents when relatives of Tahir came to pick her up. At the moment, she is not in contact, and her mother is worried, as Zuhra only sends messages of apology, promising that it will be the last time.
The girl, who has experienced stress, has stopped speaking and is afraid to communicate. The parents tried to reach out to educators and social workers but were unable to find a child psychologist in their area.
The victim's relatives were also shocked that they were not informed about the progress of the case. When they went to the police, the investigator stated that he had requested a two-month arrest, but the court rejected the petition. They had only one day left to file an appeal, and they managed to do so. However, the hospital did not provide them with complete medical documentation, only a discharge summary. The victim was in intensive care and lost consciousness upon admission. Doctors reported that his condition was critical and that part of his ear was lost, which is a visible and irreversible injury. Nevertheless, the forensic examination classified the injuries as moderate severity.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 280 "Hooliganism" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Tahir was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility; however, the court applied house arrest to him, as reported by the Internal Affairs Department.
