Asel Azamatova stated that her ex-husband, deputy Eldar Sulaymanov, systematically subjected her to violence.
According to the Bishkek City Police Department, Asel Azamatova filed a complaint requesting measures to be taken against her ex-husband, claiming that he had long exerted psychological pressure on her and had previously used physical force. In response, a preliminary investigation has been initiated, and a protection order has been issued.
Eldar Sulaymanov, in an interview with Kaktus.media, emphasizes that all accusations are one-sided and require legal assessment, referring to the presumption of innocence.
It is worth noting that in 2022, Asel Azamatova had already approached the Kaktus.media editorial office but then refused to publish the story. Now, according to her, she wants to resolve the matter as she previously experienced fear.
Azamatova revealed that her ex-husband used violence even during her pregnancy, blackmailed her with their children, and created unbearable living conditions.
"I was dependent on him, both financially and emotionally. Being pregnant with our third child, it was very scary to leave with three kids. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to provide them with a decent standard of living," Asel shared.Currently, Asel views the situation differently.
"I can provide my children with a middle-class standard of living: a good school, kindergartens, and a happy childhood, but without scandals between the parents," she noted.
Asel also emphasized that the issue of domestic violence in the country is very serious, and women find it difficult to seek protection.
She hopes that her ex-husband will not turn the children against her.
Sulaymanov categorically denies all accusations, claiming that he has never resorted to physical violence against his wife and believes that these accusations are aimed at shaping a false public opinion regarding the issue of domestic violence.
The deputy also noted that he sometimes became a victim of aggression himself, and conflicts with his ex-wife occurred even in public places, leading to police intervention. He emphasizes that the responsibility for incidents is often placed on him and considers the accusations unfair, pointing to his emotional state after the divorce. Sulaymanov calls on society to refrain from harsh judgments, reminding that this is a private family matter.
