According to the GKNB, anonymous and fake accounts continue to appear on the internet, spreading false information about the work of Chinese citizens, which creates a negative perception among the population and provokes interethnic hatred.
As the GKNB found out, the author of the video is a worker in the construction sector who was aware of project changes and the dismantling of facade elements. He intentionally filmed and posted a provocative video, driven by personal animosity towards Chinese workers.
Statement from the Ministry of Construction
The Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services also commented on the situation. The agency noted that on November 28, false information about the poor quality of windows in a building under construction appeared on social media.“Changes were made to the project of the multi-story building located at: Bishkek, Baytik Baatyr St., 1 E. As a result, the dismantling of windows installed in a checkerboard pattern is currently ongoing to bring them in line with the new project. All work is being monitored by the ministry and is being carried out strictly according to the project. There is no cause for concern,” the ministry's press service stated, adding that laboratory and seismic tests conducted on September 30 confirmed positive results.
Response from the President's Press Service
Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the president's press service, also commented on the video. He noted that the information presented in the video had been thoroughly verified and it was established that it was filmed during the dismantling of gas blocks necessary for the project changes.“In addition, an analysis of the concrete sample was conducted, which showed that its quality exceeds 96%. The claim of improper concrete pouring was not confirmed, and no other violations were recorded. The account that posted the false information had previously also published materials questioning the construction of government facilities,” Orunbekov added.
Clarification from the Developer
The Presidential Administration reported that a video with false accusations regarding the construction of mortgage houses in the "Yntymak" area was circulating on social media.“We officially inform you: the GKNB has detained the author of the video for spreading false information. His claims do not correspond to reality and are a deliberate attempt to discredit the state project. The construction is being monitored by the state, and the inspections conducted confirmed the high quality of the work: laboratory tests showed concrete strength above 96%. The dismantling and reinstallation of windows are taking place within the framework of approved project changes and are not defects. Anyone interested can visit the site and verify the high quality of the work,” the Administration noted.
Opinion of a Deputy
Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Iskhak Masaliev reacted to the statements from the Ministry of Construction and Orunbekov.“Some person wrote about the house that the Chinese built it poorly. The Minister of Construction and the president's press secretary quickly reacted, stating that everything is fine. I am glad if the construction is indeed of high quality. However, the Jogorku Kenesh created a commission to check construction projects, which has not been able to verify a single multi-story building for seismic resistance in two years. Our problem is the attitude of construction industry leaders towards deputies,” Masaliev wrote on social media.
“There is a big problem in construction: our children do not want to work for 40-50 thousand soms. But claiming that the Chinese work well and the Kyrgyz work poorly is wrong. The problem is not nationality. We need to train personnel, educate them, and provide decent wages,” he added.
