Iran confirmed the death of the commander of the IRGC Navy, Alireza Tangsiri

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) officially announced the death of Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, who commanded Iran's naval forces.

According to Iranian authorities, Tangsiri sustained "incurable injuries" while carrying out missions to protect the country's coastline amid military conflict with the US and Israel.

The IRGC noted that his death occurred following attacks on American fighter jets and related infrastructure.

Representatives of the Iranian command stated that the residences of officials from countries involved in operations against Iran are now considered legitimate targets for attacks.

The attack by Israel and the US on Iran began on February 28 with extensive air and missile strikes on cities and military facilities. US President Donald Trump called this military operation "Epic Fury." In response, Tehran is attacking Israel and American military bases in several countries in the Middle East, as well as blocking the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's oil shipments pass.

As a result of the conflicts in Iran, many high-ranking officials and military personnel have died, including the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He was succeeded by his son Mojtaba Khamenei.
