Press service of the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic // On September 29, Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic Baktybek Amanbaev met with the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Johann P. Siffoant. During the meeting, the Ombudsman informed the guest about the work done on reforming the institution, structural transformations, and improving the effectiveness of responses to citizens' complaints.
“We strive to enhance our work both in proactive and reactive areas. We have completed an analysis of systemic violations in seven areas of human rights activities. We intend to pay special attention to the protection of the rights of refugees, as we believe that no state today is immune to the influence of global destabilizing factors. It is very important to establish close contacts between the relevant departments of our organizations,” said B. Amanbaev.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Johann P. Siffoant expressed hope for further constructive dialogue and a positive resolution of all issues arising in the field of civil rights violations affecting people who have been forcibly deprived of their homeland due to objective circumstances.
