As part of the career orientation program conducted by the Bishkek City Employment Support Department under the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic, high school students are given the opportunity to understand their career preferences, taking into account their interests and skills, as well as the requirements of the modern labor market.

According to the Ministry of Labor's press service, the career orientation center was opened on March 9, 2021, with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and as part of the initiative "Support for Employment and Vocational Training."

The key areas of the center's work include:
• individual consultations and career testing;
• meetings with representatives of various professions;
• excursions to educational institutions and enterprises;
• participation in career and job fairs.

To determine students' interests and skills, tests such as the "Interest Navigator" and other tools for assessing professional, social, and personal qualities are used. From January to October 2025, 5,754 students from 76 schools in the capital underwent career orientation testing.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in meetings with professionals: during the reporting period, 4 such meetings were held, attended by 142 students from schools No. 75, 91, and 50. Excursions to enterprises and educational institutions allowed 92 students from school No. 68 to familiarize themselves with working conditions and educational programs, including visits to Hyatt Regency Bishkek and the S. Chokmorov Professional Lyceum No. 10.

Career and job fairs open new career horizons for students. For example, on April 22, 381 students from 7 schools attended an event at the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn, and on October 2, 520 students from 10 schools participated in an event at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after G. Aitiev. During these events, tests, quizzes, games, and a master class titled "Secrets of Success" were conducted.

The Ministry of Labor's career orientation center continues its work aimed at developing students' skills and interests, facilitating a conscious choice of profession and preparation for a successful career.
