“With my nearly 45 years of experience and a weekly workload of 20 hours, I am paid 24,000 soms, but I only take home 19,000,” added another participant in the discussion.
It was also mentioned that the husband of one of the teachers, who has 44 years of experience and a 24-hour workload, takes home 22,600 soms, while she, with less experience and a 27-hour workload, earns only 13,800 soms.
In addition, users also shared a job advertisement for a janitor offering a salary of 40,000 soms. The company mentioned in the advertisement noted that the recruitment for this position has already been completed, but a cleaner is needed in the office with a salary of 30,000 soms.
It was previously reported that the minimum salary for a teacher in Kyrgyzstan is currently 12,000 soms, while the maximum is 72,000 soms. These figures depend on the level of education, the region of work, the number of teaching hours and workload, as well as teaching experience and the presence of bonuses for class supervision and grading notebooks.
The president of the country stated that the average salary of teachers in Kyrgyzstan is 26,000 soms, and from April 1, 2026, after the planned increase, it will reach approximately 40,000 soms. In remote areas, a teacher with higher education, who currently earns 65,800 soms, will be able to expect 80,800 soms after the increase.
