According to current legislation, campaigning begins upon the completion of candidate registration and ends 24 hours before voting.
The main purpose of the "day of silence" is to allow voters to calmly consider their decisions without outside influence.
During this period, candidates are prohibited from:
- campaigning for or against any candidates;
- discussing electoral programs;
- publishing new campaign materials.
Additionally, any campaigning actions in the media and the internet are banned on this day.
It is important to note that according to the Code of Offenses of Kyrgyzstan, violations of election campaigning rules are subject to a fine of 75 calculation indicators, which amounts to 7,500 soms for individuals.
On the "day of silence" and on election day, over 10,000 law enforcement officers will be deployed to ensure public order and prevent violations. Source link
