A project has been initiated in the capital's city hall of Kyrgyzstan, which proposes changing the names of several streets to eliminate duplication. This document has been officially presented for public discussion.
List of streets to be renamed:
- Mikhail Frunze Street, Deng Xiaoping Avenue, Chuy Avenue, and Shabdan Batyr Avenue — will be renamed to Chuy Avenue;
- April 7 Street and Kurmanjan Datka Street — will become Kurmanjan Datka Street;
- Jayyl Batyr Street and Kayykov Street, as well as Absamat Masaliev Avenue and Aaly Tokombaev Avenue — will merge into Tokombaev Avenue;
- Anvarbek Chortekov Street and Krivonosov Street — will be renamed to Absamat Masaliev Street;
- Leo Tolstoy Street, Puteprovodnaya Street, and Sary-Ozon Street — will become Shabdan Batyr Street;
- Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue and Manas Street — will merge into Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue;
- Young Guard Avenue and Mahatma Gandhi Street — will be renamed to Imanaly Aydarbekov Street;
- Selection Street and Muromskaya Street — will become Mahatma Gandhi Street;
- Julius Fuchik Street and Vasilievsky Tract — will be renamed to Manas Street;
- Jibek-Jolu Avenue and Victory Avenue — will become Jibek-Jolu Avenue;
- Maxim Gorky Street and Ankara Street — will merge into Ankara Street;
- Chalagyz Imankulov Street and Karybek Tynaliev Street — will be renamed to Tynaliev Street;
- Baytik Batyr Street, Jusup Abdrakhmanov Street, Abdynasyr Elebesov Street, and Central Street — will become Jusup Abdrakhmanov Street;
- Beregovaya Street, Okrainaya Street, Kok-Sai Street, Kurmanaliev Street, and Naberezhnaya Street — will merge into Deng Xiaoping Street;
- Ishak Razzakov Street (Novopavlovka) and Asipa Temirova Street — will become Anvarbek Chortekov Street;
- Vinogradnaya Street — will be renamed to Leo Tolstoy Street;
- Nikolai Gogol Street (Novopavlovka) — will become Chalagyz Imankulov Street;
- Lensky Street and Jubilee Street — will be merged into Jayyl Batyr Street.
