On December 19 and 20, a C5+1 summit will take place in Tokyo, during which Japan will meet with five Central Asian countries, according to information published by Japanese media.

It is also expected that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takahichi will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of these countries during the event.

Taro Aso, Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party, emphasized the importance of Tokyo's diplomatic activity in light of recent meetings between Central Asia and Russia, China, and the United States.

"Japan must successfully conduct such summits, as this is of great significance in terms of diplomacy," Aso stated.

The press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported that the details of Sadyr Japarov's trip will be announced later.

The parties intended to hold the summit in Kazakhstan in August 2024, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the "Central Asia - Japan" dialogue; however, the meeting was canceled at the last moment due to a warning about a possible strong earthquake in Japan, as reported by sources.

The intention to organize a summit this year became known at the end of November. Prime Minister Takahichi views the upcoming event as an opportunity to strengthen ties with resource-rich countries and enhance economic security, as well as to promote cooperation in various fields.
