On September 13-14, 2025, an international tournament and the Asian Sumo Championship took place in Bangkok.
The State Penitentiary Service informs about the outstanding achievements of the Kyrgyzstan national team, which strengthens its position on the world sports stage. Among the prize winners was Datkayim Ulanbek kyzy, a regime and supervision officer at institution No. 53.
In the women's team, which also included Ayköl Ziyapova and Sezimai Kalmyrzaeva, Datkayim Ulanbek kyzy managed to win a bronze medal. This award became the first team medal for the women's national team of Kyrgyzstan in sumo and is of great significance for the development of this sport in the country.
It is worth noting that this success was made possible thanks to the intensive training of the athletes, the highly qualified work of the coaching staff, and the support of the state through the Directorate for Non-Olympic Sports under the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
As a result of the competitions at the world and Asian championships in Bangkok, Kyrgyz sumo wrestlers won 11 medals, confirming their growing professionalism and competitiveness on the international stage.
