Nurmat Uulu works at the Kusein Karasaev Lyceum, located in the Issyk-Kul region, which is part of the international educational network Maarif Sebat. In April of this year, he was detained upon arrival in Istanbul.
According to available information, the detention was related to his past activities in the Sebat educational network. The educator traveled to Turkey as a chaperone for a group of school students participating in an international mathematics Olympiad.
Despite Azamat Nurmat Uulu's return to Kyrgyzstan, legal proceedings in his case in Turkey continue.
