Local residents expressed concern about the situation surrounding the market located at the intersection of Mahatma Gandhi and Vasiliev streets, and urged official authorities to pay attention to the existing problems.
According to them, the market's activities create unbearable living conditions and pose a threat to public safety due to the following factors:
- Violation of sanitary standards. There are no properly equipped waste collection sites on the market premises, leading to the accumulation of waste in open containers. As the number of trading points increases, cases of pests such as rats and cockroaches have become more frequent, creating a risk of disease spread.
- Fire safety issues. Fires often occur at the market. The proximity of the market to residential buildings raises particular concern, as a main gas pipeline runs along the border with the residential sector. Any fire could lead to serious consequences, including an explosion. The lack of firebreaks exacerbates the problem.
- Pressure on residents and land disputes. The market administration is trying to expand its boundaries at the expense of adjacent lands, causing dissatisfaction among local residents who face intimidation. The market, which emerged on the site of a former packaging base, originally had clear boundaries, and now residents feel threatened by the administration.
- Infrastructure problems. Traffic and pedestrian movement are disrupted both within the market and on the surrounding streets. Vasiliev Street suffers from constant traffic jams due to disorganized parking, and there is no clear traffic scheme within the market, creating dangerous situations for pedestrians.
- Violation of public order. Heavy trucks servicing the market constantly park in the territory of the Cholponbay Tuleberdiev Park and Museum, spoiling the appearance of public space and creating emergency situations.
- conduct a comprehensive inspection of the "Aziz" market for compliance with fire safety, sanitation, and urban planning standards;
- determine the legality of the market's location near residential areas and monitor the boundaries of the land plot;
- take measures to protect residents' rights from illegal actions and encroachments on their property.
