Starting from January 1, 2026, a section of Chyngyz Aitmatov Avenue in Bishkek will be temporarily closed, stretching from Semetey Street to A. Tokombaev Street. The reason for the restrictions is the commencement of construction for underground pedestrian crossings and bus stop complexes.
This decision was made at the initiative of Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev. The work will begin taking into account the holiday weekends, which should minimize the burden on the city's transport system.
Due to the construction work in this area, traffic will be restricted to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors to the capital. Drivers are advised to plan alternative routes in advance and pay close attention to temporary road signs and indicators.
The Bishkek City Hall appeals to residents and visitors of the city to be understanding regarding the temporary inconveniences associated with this construction work.
