Every city has its own style. New Year trees of Kyrgyzstan in details
This year, the New Year celebrations in Kyrgyzstan featured a variety of styles, yet all maintained a common spirit. The cities did not strive for expensive novelties, preferring to use traditional decorations, garlands, and decor that had proven themselves in the past. This approach not only helped save the budget but also demonstrated that a festive atmosphere can be created without excessive spending.

The main tree of Bishkek: austerity and absence of excess

In 2026, the main New Year tree of the capital was installed in the northern part of Ala-Too Square. The city's mayor, Aibek Junushaliev, noted that this decision allowed for an increase in space for walks. Now there is more room in the square for family photos and festive events.

The tree was decorated without unnecessary pomp but with intelligence: garlands, ornaments, and small architectural forms familiar to many were used in a new combination. The design was executed in white and blue tones, corresponding to the colors of the Bishkek coat of arms. The height of the tree was 35 meters, including the star on top, and about 7,000 ornaments were used with new lighting, especially striking in the evening. The ice rink and fair were an initiative of the business that took on the organization and decoration.

In addition to the main tree, other squares and yards in Bishkek were also decorated.

The tree in Osh: brightness and festive mood

In the southern capital, Osh, the main tree was installed opposite the city hall. It was decorated with bright yellow and red balls, creating a joyful atmosphere for both residents and guests.

The height of the tree was an impressive 30 meters.

The tree in Uzgen: small but cute

In Uzgen, a 16-meter tall New Year tree was installed in Dostuk Park. The budget for its installation was 200,000 soms, and this year it was three meters taller than last year.

However, in another area of the city, another tree was installed, which was criticized by social media users for lacking modern style.

Falling snow, bright lights, and a festive tree created an atmosphere of a real celebration. Families came, took photos, and exchanged greetings with New Year wishes.

The tree, 22 meters tall, was decorated for 234,000 soms. Judging by the atmosphere, the funds invested were justified — the New Year mood in Karakol was created in time.

The tree in Naryn: traditions continue

According to the Naryn city hall, the height of the local tree is 12 meters, and 47,000 soms were allocated for its decoration.

“Every year we decorate this tree differently, although this is already the seventh time,” representatives of the city hall reported.

In Talas, a grand opening of the central square took place after reconstruction, during which the main tree of the city was lit up.

The tree in Kara-Balta: one but special

In Kara-Balta, the New Year tree is not tall — 16 meters and located in the main square of the city.

The deputy head of the municipal enterprise “Universal,” Mirbek Murataliev, reported that the tree was decorated with more than 1,500 ornaments and garlands.

“Last year, about 2,000 ornaments were used for two trees, but this year, due to the absence of a tree at the akimat, some decorations were transferred to the tree at the House of Culture. We focused on decorating the sidewalks using artificial fir branches, patron lamps, and LED strips,” he said.
