Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov stated that rolling blackouts are not being implemented in Kyrgyzstan. This information was announced at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh the day before.
The response from the ministry was given in response to a request from Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova, who was inquiring about frequent power outages in the Nookat district.
He noted: "Rolling blackouts are not being conducted. However, due to the low water level in the Toktogul reservoir, measures to regulate electricity consumption have been introduced since November. During peak consumption hours, in the morning and evening, the power available to the population is temporarily reduced from 5 kW to 3 kW," Rysbekov clarified.
