Local residents and experts emphasize the importance of careful monitoring of the construction process, as well as the necessity of conducting a special strength test of the bridge after the work is completed.
The Akim of the Kara-Kulzhinsky district, Zamir Sydykov, explained that the bags were used as supports for the wooden forms during the pouring of concrete.
“A video appeared on social media, filmed by a resident of Kara-Kochkor, showing the work to strengthen the bridge located over the 'Özgön Arık' canal, on the road leading to the 'MTF' site in this rural area. In response to requests from local residents, a decision was made in November 2024 to carry out strengthening work on the bridge, which was built in the 1970s. The main reason was the erosion of the foundation of the reinforced concrete blocks installed on the bridge supports by water. The tender for strengthening the old bridge was won by the company OsOO 'Remark Group LTD', with the cost of the work amounting to 163,255 soms. As part of the tender, work was carried out to strengthen the reinforced concrete slabs under the bridge and to level the slab on top. The bags that appeared on social media were filled with sand and were used to support the wooden formwork during the pouring of concrete,” he clarified.
