According to these amendments to the law "On Communications," proposed by the government, communication operators will be required, at the request of the FSB, to block any services for a period of time to protect the "security of citizens and the state," and they will not bear financial responsibility to their clients.
Information about the preparation of these amendments emerged back in November. The Telegram channel Faridaily noted that they effectively give the FSB the ability to disconnect not only mobile internet but also landline communications, including telephone services, which raises serious concerns.
