The U.S. Central Command has officially confirmed the arrival of the strike group led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln in the Middle East. The journey took more than a week from the southeastern shores of Asia.
According to information from the New York Times, a strike against Iran could occur within the next 48 hours.
Since December, the country has been experiencing mass protests. Earlier, Donald Trump urged Iranian demonstrators to continue their actions and warned Tehran of possible military intervention from Washington if government forces began to crack down on protesters.
According to Iranian human rights defenders from HRANA, the number of people killed as a result of the brutal suppression of protests has reached 3,090.
Recent reports have recorded protests in 585 locations across 186 cities (31 provinces) in Iran, with the number of detainees exceeding tens of thousands.
The Iranian air defense has been put on high alert.
It is important to note that the country has been without internet for more than two weeks; the authorities have also shut down mobile communications.
Mass protests began in late December 2025, triggered by an economic crisis and the devaluation of the national currency.
