The air quality improvement project discussed with the World Bank at the Bishkek City Hall

A meeting took place between the Mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Junushaliev, and Gayana Minasyan, the World Bank's practice manager for environmental issues in Europe and Central Asia, at the city hall.

According to the press service of the mayor's office, the discussion focused on various initiatives related to the "Air Quality Improvement" project. In particular, the concept of a "Green Belt" was examined, as well as the pilot implementation of heat pumps in residential buildings and other measures aimed at protecting the environment.

Additionally, the mayor's office presented a number of ongoing projects, including the construction of an eco-technology plant, the modernization of the "Bishkek Heat and Power Plant," "Bishkek Heating Network," and "Bishkek Heat Energy," as well as work on cleaning the Alamudun and Ala-Archa rivers and the activities of the municipal inspection.

"I hope that our cooperation will contribute not only to the practical improvement of air quality but also to creating a positive image of Bishkek as an environmentally sustainable and green city," noted Mayor Junushaliev.

The mayor's office also reported the arrival of 50,000 seedlings for the greening of the capital.
