An Exhibition of Matyó Hungarian Embroidery Opened at the Kurmanjan Datka Center of Nomadic Civilization

The opening of an exhibition titled "Hungarian Matyó Embroidery — A Symbol of Traditions and Cultural Memory of the People" took place at the Kurmanjan Datka Center for Nomadic Civilization.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, the exhibition is organized with the support of the Embassy of Hungary in Kyrgyzstan, the Matyó Museum (located in Mezőkövesd, Hungary), and the Center for Nomadic Civilization.

Event attendees were able to learn about the history, aesthetic features, and symbolism of Matyó embroidery, which is included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage. As part of the opening, documentary films were presented, and interactive activities for school students were conducted.

Participants included representatives of the local community, embroidery masters, as well as teachers and students.
