The voting on this matter took place on December 10 and was unanimous.
The nomination application was submitted to UNESCO in 2023.
The inclusion of cultural elements in the UNESCO international list aims to raise their visibility and support intangible cultural heritage at a global level.
This year, the Committee reviewed 68 applications for inclusion in the Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Currently, there are already 812 cultural elements from 153 countries listed by UNESCO.
Kyrgyzstan presented 16 elements of its intangible cultural heritage, among which are the trilogy "Manas, Semetey, Seytek," the art of creating felt carpets Ala-kiyiz and Shyrdak, the revival of nomadic games, the celebration of cultural diversity, as well as the traditional horseback game Kok boru and others.
