Ministry of Labor: Employers Delaying Salaries Will Have to Pay Penalties

The Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration has presented updates to the Labor Code concerning the issue of delayed wages.

According to information posted on the agency's website, a unified penalty percentage is now established. If an employer fails to pay wages, vacation pay, severance payments, or other dues, they will have to additionally pay 0.25 percent of the debt amount for each calendar day of delay at the time of actual settlement.

Furthermore, a new statute of limitations has been established. Employees whose wages have been delayed have the right to file a lawsuit in court within three years from the date the payment was due.
