The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic plans to install 20 thousand cameras with facial recognition system

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced plans for the phased installation of 20 thousand modern video cameras as part of the "Safe Country" initiative. Relevant information was provided by representatives of the department.

Since 2022, a facial recognition system has been operating at the Operational Management Center, which has helped identify more than 3 thousand suspects in crimes, as well as locate missing persons.

Currently, more than 3 thousand cameras provide round-the-clock monitoring, analyzing data using artificial intelligence technologies.

The system is highly effective even in cases where faces are concealed by medical masks or glasses. When matches are detected, the information is immediately transmitted to operational services.
