In Cholpon-Ata, the construction of a new bypass road has begun, with a length of 14.5 kilometers. The project, which runs at the foot of the mountains, aims to relieve congestion in the central part of the resort city during the peak tourist season.

As clarified by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, work on the project is progressing at an accelerated pace, and its completion is scheduled for September, in time for the World Nomad Games, which will take place this year on the shores of Issyk-Kul.

According to representatives of the department, the new bypass will be integrated into the updated traffic scheme around the resort area.

As part of the construction, work will include creating a road surface, filling the foundation, drainage systems, slope stabilization, and the installation of engineering structures. The road is being designed for year-round use.
