Meder Aliyev, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, held a meeting with residents of MTU "Novopavlovka" in the local school’s assembly hall. The main topic of discussion was the construction of a road that could either pass through the cemetery or bypass it. This was reported by local residents addressing the deputy.

During the meeting, the elected representative listened to the opinions and concerns of the people. One participant expressed dissatisfaction, calling the construction of the road through the cemetery "devilish."

Meder Aliyev expressed understanding of the concerns of the Novopavlovka residents. "I am here to talk to you. Like any normal person, I do not want my deceased relatives to be reburied. But with the expansion of Bishkek and the increase in internal migration, the need for new roads is growing," he said.

According to the deputy, it is important to find a compromise solution that satisfies all parties.

Representatives of the local administration reported that the akim is currently holding a meeting with the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, on this issue. The residents of Novopavlovka hope that the mayor will visit the cemetery soon to make a final decision regarding the road issue.

It was previously reported that the residents of Novopavlovka received information from the municipal territorial administration No. 106 regarding the situation with the construction of the road on Profsoyuznaya Street. The MTU clarified that currently, two options are being considered — either constructing the road through the cemetery or bypassing it, but a final decision has not yet been made.

The residents of Novopavlovka have begun collecting signatures for a petition demanding to stop the demolition of the cemetery. This petition has already been signed by more than a thousand people online.
