In Novopavlovka, an important meeting took place where the mayor of Bishkek, Aybek Junushaliev, interacted with local residents. The main topic of discussion was the project for Profsoyuznaya Street, which has caused dissatisfaction due to its proximity to the cemetery. It is worth noting that this reconstruction is part of a larger project to create an alternative road to Manas Airport.

Residents attended the meeting with clear emotions and demands. They expressed their discontent, claiming that the road construction would "go over the graves," and asked questions about why the cemetery area, according to them, has increased by 6 hectares.

To establish a dialogue, the mayor raised his hands several times, calling for calm: "No one is to blame — neither you nor your parents. But our city must develop."

He emphasized that no work on the cemetery territory will not only begin but is also not planned until a joint solution is reached with the residents.

The mayor explained that there are currently two route options: one runs far from the cemetery, while the other is much closer. A final decision has not yet been made: "I have instructed not to start any work. First, an analysis must be conducted, and then a dialogue with the residents."

When the mayor was asked if he could influence the project, he replied that he has the authority to prepare an analytical report and present it to the leadership, but the final decision will be made taking into account the citizens' opinions.

Additionally, the mayor noted the importance of the new road, which should help relieve congestion in the area where the only bypass lane cannot handle the flow of traffic, and public transport is forced to seek alternative routes.

Nevertheless, he again emphasized the need for a live dialogue: "We are ready to organize another meeting — in a larger venue where everyone can express their opinion. Provocations will not help — we need to find a solution."

Residents insisted on holding separate public hearings and ensuring guarantees that no burials would be affected. Aybek Junushaliev confirmed these guarantees and promised that any decision would be made only after a thorough examination of all proposals from the population.

The situation remains under control, and municipal specialists are working on updated calculations, while residents continue to ask questions to the authorities.
