A petition titled "Stop the demolition of the cemetery in Novopavlovka" has appeared on the internet, which has already been signed by about a thousand people. You can participate in the initiative.

The author of the petition notes that many residents of Novopavlovka have 15-20 graves of their loved ones in this cemetery. "We, the villagers, appeal to Colonel General Kamchybek Kydyrshaevich Tashiev to pay attention to the situation, which is extremely serious for us," he emphasizes in his address.

The address also mentions that the upcoming demolition of the cemetery, where both Christians and Muslims are buried, is causing dissatisfaction and protest among local residents, as this place has become the final resting place for many of their relatives.

The author emphasizes that priorities should remain safety and the preservation of cultural heritage. "Our goal is to preserve this important site of historical and cultural significance and to prevent possible conflicts. We are ready to discuss alternative development paths for the area that do not affect the cemetery," he added.

It is important to note that road construction is underway in the village area, which may pass through the cemetery. The last burial there is dated to 2024. The new road project is intended to alleviate traffic flow at the new Osh market, the Western bus station, and at Manas Airport.

It was previously reported that local residents received a notification from the municipal territorial administration No. 106 regarding the road construction situation on Profsoyuznaya Street. The MTA indicated that two options are currently being considered: to lay the road through the cemetery or to bypass it, but a final decision has not yet been made.
