Mothers of children with disabilities complained to the ombudsman about the inaccessible environment

The meeting gathered more than 200 participants from the Issyk-Ata, Kemin, and Chuy districts, as well as from the cities of Tokmok and Kant. A significant portion of the questions addressed the socio-economic situation in the region.

Particular attention was paid to the problems faced by people with disabilities. Residents spoke about difficulties accessing infrastructure, the need to increase social benefits, creating favorable conditions in educational institutions, and opening specialized centers. Parents noted that children with autism are not accepted into schools.

Mothers of children with disabilities also shared their concerns regarding the medical and social expertise process.

"We are required to bring our children for examination, even if they cannot move independently. It is difficult for my adult child to get there by public transport, as we are not accepted," one of the women present at the meeting said.

Additionally, issues were discussed regarding the lack of passports due to lost documents, the shortage of land for housing construction, and environmental concerns related to the development of a quarry in the village of Boz-Boltok.

Jamilya Dzhamanbaeva promised that all appeals would be properly addressed.

"Over the past 23 years, more than 70% of the recommendations from the Ombudsman approved by the Jogorku Kenesh have been implemented. This demonstrates our effectiveness," she emphasized.

As part of the first round of the "Karavan of Rights" program, the ombudsman plans to visit the Chuy, Issyk-Kul, and Naryn regions, where institute staff provide legal assistance and accept applications on-site.
